Rozenwig's research

Rosenzwig developed a test to study the extent and nature of frustration among the indiividuals. He prepared twenty four cartoon like pictures of men and women involved in some kind of frustrating situation. The picture containstwo faceless characters one of whom done something that frustrated the other indiividual. Now the frustrated person has to say something in response to the frustrating situation. He may use and choose any words, sentences, phrases etc.As far as possible it is expected that the response be brief and concise.

There are two boxes one of which is filled with the saying of one of the person. The other box is empty, and meant for writing the first response that comes to the frustrator's mind. The researcher then scores these twenty four responses with the help of the standardized key. This key is somewhat complicated and requires some kind of ingenuity on the part of the scorer. When entire scoring is done then Item Score table is filled in and a GCR percentage is calculated.Further a profile is created. Finally a comment is passed on the extent and nature of frustration and sometimes suggestions are given to handle over the frustrating situation.
One study was conducted with this study to find out sex differences if any and it was observed that there a re such differences and that women are more responsive to such frustrating situations and react very vigorously.
